Luego de estudiar cuatro años de arquitectura en la UNLP y formarse como Diseñadora de Interiores, Ximena descubrió que lo que siempre le había dicho su madre era lo que realmente le gustaba: ser maestra jardinera. Es por esto que se formó como tal en el Instituto Superior de Formación Docente y Técnica N°9. Trabajó en varias instituciones de la ciudad, en primer y segundo ciclo en nivel inicial, así como también en nivel primario, nivel en el cual está actualmente formándose. Considera, como dice Paulo Freire, que: "Enseñar no es transferir conocimiento, sino crear las posibilidades para su producción o su construcción. Quien enseña aprende al enseñar y quien enseña aprende a aprender". Having studied to be an architect for four years at Universidad Nacional de La Plata, and having trained as an Interiors Decorator, Ximena found the truth in her mother’s old-time words: what she really wanted was to be an early years’ teacher. She therefore decided to obtain such training at Instituto Superior de Formación y Técnica N°9. She has worked at several schools in the city, both in lower and upper cycles of early years programs, as well as in primary level, of which she is currently training to be a teacher. Ximena believes, in Paulo Freire’s words, that “Teaching is not about conveying knowledge, but about creating the possibilities for its production or construction. Those who teach learn by teaching, and those who teach learn to learn”.
